Telehealth

Telehealth therapy in Florida

All sessions are delivered via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. You must be physically located in Florida at the time of your session — telehealth doesn't change state licensure rules.

What you need

  • A private space where you can speak freely
  • A stable internet connection
  • Headphones if privacy is a concern
  • A laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a working camera and microphone

No app required. You'll receive a unique session link before each appointment.

Safety and emergencies

This practice is not an emergency service. If you need immediate help, call or text 988. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

As part of starting care, we clarify how to handle emergencies and confirm an appropriate emergency contact.

Why telehealth works for therapy

Geographic reach

You can work with a therapist who fits your needs from anywhere in Florida — Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, the Panhandle, or rural areas where licensed providers are scarce.

Continuity through transitions

Travel within Florida, a temporary move, or a busy work schedule doesn't have to interrupt care. As long as you're physically in Florida and in a private setting, sessions hold.

Lower friction to start

No commute. No waiting room. The energy you'd spend getting to a session goes into the session.

HIPAA-compliant infrastructure

Sessions run on encrypted, HIPAA-compliant video. Once you're an established client, scheduling, secure messaging, and intake forms are handled through SimplePractice, an industry-standard HIPAA-compliant platform.

Location requirement

Telehealth sessions are available only to clients who are physically located in Florida at the time of the session. This is a state licensure requirement, not a Bridgewell policy. If you regularly travel out of state during scheduled session times, we'll need to discuss the implications before starting care.
